Story: My Little Enterprise (Update Part 8!)

[Grimdark][Sci-Fi][Crossover] “As a longtime Trekkie, I really, REALLY liked this one.  It’s remarkably dead on and feels both like ‘MLP in the far future’ and ‘standard Trek episode’… specifically, it feels somewhere between TNG and Voyager.  As a result, it’s AWESOME!”Pre Reader #10

Author: VozDeSuenos

Description: Years after the mane six defeated Luna with the Elements of Harmony, a new evil invaded Equestria. The ponies only hope lay in the Elements of Harmony, the princesses, and the Doctor. Unfortunately, a terrible catastrophe befell the planet. With technology inspired by the TARDIS, ponies fled to the stars. In time, a crew aboard the Alicorn finds itself far away from home, trying to survive in a new sector of space and wondering what has happened to Equestria.

For a second I thought Twilight was in a business suit, and the title referred to a business enterprise. *facehoof*

  2. Anonymous says:

    A Trek AND Who crossover?!*dies*

  3. Nightsong says:

O.o Nuuuuuu! Someone else beat me too it! ;n; And I was gonna do Star Pony: The Next Friendship …..

  4. First Borg and then Romulans. These ponies are NOT having a good day, are they? :PMore please, but don't rush.

  5. Neighdolph says:

Spaaaaaaaace. The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Canterprize. Its ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to sek out new life and new civilizations, to BOLDLY GO WHERE NOPONY HAS GONE BEFORE!Twilight's log: stardate unknown"Dear Princess Celestia…"

  6. Natr1x says:

    I wants moar!!!!!!! imideatly!!!!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  7. Bronode says:

Umm… gonna out myself as a massive trekkie here, but what the hell. Transporting the dilithium matrix out of the warp core stuck me as a strange thing to do, since doing that while while it's still in use is a sure-fire way to cause a breach. If they wanted a big explosion, they could have just ejected the antimatter storage pods and blown them up with a photon torpedo. Less flashy, but also less shortsighted than rendering your warp drive inoperable. And isn't the ship still infested with Borg? Seems a little early to be calling a staff meeting when there's still drones running around and wounded that need to be tended to….ahem

  8. Finally, a Star Trek Crossover. I've had plans to make one myself since doing that picture of Twilight in that 29th century science uniform. But I want it to be a crossover with the JJ Abrams 2009 story. And it be a Humans in Equestria story too, with Kirk and the gang visiting Equestria. Although, I only have a basic premise at the moment.

Heh, good points Bronode. I had meant to handle the Borg beaming off. As for the engines, guess you just know a bit more than I do. -Voz

  10. jeffbridges says:

Hey! The 'parsec' line prompted comment. Die hard trekkie, so I gotta be picky. A parsec is about 3.25 light years, which at impulse isn't a distance that can actually be traveled in any less than a few decades. You probably meant an astronomical unit or AU, the distance from the Earth to the sun, which even that takes over an hour at max impulse, but point is that it's more manageable. Good story though, I'll stay tuned for updates!

  11. Skillet says:

    Tuesdays. How do they work?

  12. Bronode says:

Well your ship is apparently shaped like a pegasus, Voz, so I'm prepared to accept a few departures from how Fed tech should work.Jeff, I think some reference was made to a short-range warp jump. So parsec might be doable, although yeah, an AU would make much more sense as I'd expect the scale of the nexus they're in to be on par with a transwarp hub.

  13. Largefish10 says:

Speaking as a trekkie, brilliant job so far. I look forward to seeing more of this fic.

"Free will is irrelevant. Friendship is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. Bow before your Princess."I'm still reading it and you already have 5 stars for this. Good job sir.

  15. Anonymous says:

So, when can we expect Kirk/Picard/Whoever to show up when the reports of the Romulan fleet converging on an unknown ship in the Neutral Zone to occur? (the feds have to be who Doctor Whooves is referring to.)

  16. Anonymous says:

Celestia of Borg is still the scariest fucking thing ever.

  17. Marshal says:

I approve of this. Last night, I'm laying in bed plagued by stomach problems, wishing I had a Star Trek/MLP:FiM crossover. The next day: BOOM!I outta wish for a Lamborghini tonight…

  18. Chromadancer says:

Welp.No reason to continue my Trek crossover now, I see.

  19. VozDeSuenos says:

@Chromadancer Of course there is! Why would I write one unless I wanted to read them, too?! Definitely write one!! As for the science stuff, I'm going to keep a closer eye on it. Bronode, if you and / or JeffBridges want to contact me somehow, I'd be glad to have y'all as pre-readers for the next chapter's science / trek accuracy. It's been a long time since I went through Memory Alpha or the encyclopedias. @Anonymous: I'm so glad you think so. Celestia of Borg haunts my dreams now.@Pre-Reader 10: You're my hero, that's exactly the feel I was hoping for.

  20. Chromadancer says:

@VozDeSuenosHm, I guess on second thought I could keep going. I do have an outline and three chapters done, no sense in letting it go to waste… Mine has a different angle to it. I just haven't had the time to revise it and make it worthy of submitting to Seth…I considered including the Borg in mine, perhaps in a sequel, but the way I've got my universe laid out it might not work out as well. Plus, Celestia of Borg is just… a scary concept. Yikes! Can't wait to see where you go with this.

  21. VozDeSuenos says:

Absolutely! I can't wait to read it!!As for the ending, it's already planned out, but I let the characters write the middle. That's the fun part!I'll let you in on a secret. I wrote over 40 pages of a novel and lost it to a computer virus. Eventually went back three years later and finished it. It was totally worth it. No writing is ever a waste of time unless you let it be.

  22. Bronode says:

Oh wow, really? Sure I'd be interested. I don't really know how this pre-reader stuff works, but I know my trek and can string a coherent sentence together when the mood strikes me; and anyway, how hard can it be, right?Right?Besides, I've had this crapload of useless technobabble ensconced in my cranium all these years, about time I put it to some constructive use, eh?So how does this happen? You post your email, I post mine? Blogger doesn't seem to have any means of private messaging, which strikes me as odd. Finally, just to let you know, I'm a Brit, so I'm about 5 hours ahead of you. If that's gonna cause any scheduling problems then, well, there it is can't say I didn't warn you. Speaking of, it's 0515 where I'm at now so I'mma get some sleep 'fore I die.

  23. Chromadancer says:

@VozDeSuenosWow, that's crazy! Glad to hear you finished it, though. If you want to see what I've got so far on mine, feel free to take a peek and offer your comments. It reads kinda dry right now, I need to work on my descriptions. http://www.fimfiction.net/story/168/To-Seek-Out-New-Life…This one features actual characters from TNG meeting up with the ponies, so it's a bit difficult to write properly. One of the reasons I'm taking so long on it (I want it to be just right and not feel forced). I also address the Prime Directive, but that later gets thrown out the window thanks to (SPOILERS)Anyway, good luck on your future endeavors, can't wait to see the next installment!

  24. VozDeSuenos says:

@Bronode I've done a lot of voice projects where I worked with Brits, Aussies, Croats, and people all over. Time zones mean almost nothing to me. Hope you're a fan of Who, too, because it just got an even third of the plot when I was planning stuff out earlier. As for the email… lemme think on that.@Chromdancer Definitely! The first writing I ever did was an alternate history of Best of Both Worlds. Riker and Worf will be showing up in this soon.

  25. OC Ponies? Not sure if want…But I'm a Trekkie myself, and I've been waiting for a good Trek/MLP crossover, so I'll give this a chance.

Sent you a mail about an hour after you posted your mail. It's been kind of a while. Didn't you get it?

  29. Bronode says:

Right, mail sent. Hopefully it'll get to you this time.

  30. VozDeSuenos says:

Hey bronies! With a little editing help from Bronode, episode II should have a link here fairly soon.

  31. Anonymous says:

So… Pinkie is now part of the borg? Does that mean all of the mane 6 are now borg?

  32. VozDeSuenos says:

    Not necessarily *evil grin*

  33. Anonymous says:

@AnonymousPinkie Pie and the other 5 are *mares*, not fillies.Unless Voz mistyped. ;PMUST HAVE MORE! XD

  34. VozDeSuenos says:

I may have, it's kind of ambiguous where the mare / filly distinction is. Mares just seems like it's much older (~30-35 human years) to me. Either way, soon! Although Seth hasn't posted it, Episode II is linked in Episode I. I will be taking a small break, though. I'm currently writing a short fic for the Happy Luna contest. As soon as it's done, I'll begin Episode III. :]
