Story: Scootaloo’s Dream

[HappySad][Normal] No, that’s not a new tag, but it does fit I guess!

Author: Captain Waffle

Description: It’s been ten years since the second ever Sonic Rainboom. Now Scootaloo stands in the place it happened, ready to preform in front of a crowd of super critical sports fan ponies, and the pony she looks up to the most.

  1. Would that be "Bittersweet"? Guess there's only one way to find out.

  2. When will somebody write the story about Scootaloo kidnapping Dash, raping her, and then skinning her alive?

  3. Roman500 says:

Congratulations! This is now my favorite Short Story. Scootaloo is best pony.

  4. Anonymous says:

Er, in what way was this sad again? :X

  5. Huh. Definitely not "bittersweet". In fact, I'm note sure where the "Sad" half of that tag really comes in at all. All I saw was Scootalove, Dawww, and Win.

  6. @Roman500Scootaloo is annoying. Though the story idea I pitched might make her interesting.

  7. @AnonymousWhat the hell, are you Roger Ebert and am I M. Night Shyamalan?

  8. Jelfes says:

@Dave Mustang, the cynical Brony If that were to be made… and it won't be, I can guarantee you it wouldnt be posted on EqD. Haven't read this yet but I plan to soon, I've got high hopes for this story!

  9. Wolfiee says:

A very good short story it is, though I shouldn't be the one judging since I did not write a fanfic yet(!)… I hope I can finish mine in a few days…

  10. @Dave Mustang, the cynical BronyMaybe he is, maybe he isn't. I don't know. I do, however, know that you are unnecessarily rude and contrary, and I agree with the anonymous that the quality of your trolling of this blog's fanfiction has gone down significantly. It used to be an endearing kind of annoying, pointing out clichés that didn't really exist. Now, you are just being degenerately malevolent, without any of the redeeming qualities of poking fun at tropes. In short, you are violating the spirit of kindness and tolerance that we try to foster around here. We do not welcome your attempts to denigrate the community, and we would appreciate it if you would stop. Thank you.

@Dave Mustang, the cynical BronyConsidering the quality of lolz available in your comment, that metaphor would make sense. I will say it's a feeble attempt in comparison to your past efforts.

  12. @A Terrible PersonI lol'd at this comment. Basically, your like a Troll hipster"I used to like his early stuff but then he became to mainstream."

  13. @Dave Mustang, the cynical BronyThere we go! That's the Dave Mustang we all know and love to hate!

  14. Ace2401 says:

That was cute, though I've always thought that Rainbow Dash's rainbow mane was needed for the Rainboom, and that was a major reason for why it was so rare. Also, I'm not sure where the sad part comes in, but I'm totally stealing that HappySad tag for what I'm working on.

  15. @A Terrible PersonIf anything my first comment was less trolling and more a genuine request. Seriously, I'd probably fucking read that fanfic, and I'd blast D-Beat music in the background, and so the atmosphere would be complete.

  16. @A Terrible Person, Agreed – I'm not seeing any sadness, and the only tears that might be detected are tears of d'awww.

  17. Saint Dane says:

    Unless I'm interpreting this wrong, there's nothing sad here. I thoroughly enjoyed this story though. Wait… Scootaloo's Dream… Rainbow Dash only speaks in italics, never normal quotes… Hmm.. Oh. Oh God. ;_;

  18. Anonymous says:

Yeah…no sadness here.I dunno on the actual story though. Most of the elements (RD teaching Scoots to Fly; Scoots doing her own version of the Sonic Rainboom; the cycle the starts with the pair) have been done in other fics and this ends up feeling like several of them in condensed form…It's not bad…just nothing that feels unique.I think this well may very well be running dry.

  19. Anonymous says:

Maybe the tag should be "Sappy"?

  20. Anonymous says:

@Saint Daneumm…she does speak in normal quotes towards the end…

  21. B. says:

You should join #EquestrianStudy on IRC. It has several big name writers in there and a lot of people who are more than willing to proofread fics.It was a nice enough story, but it lacked polish.4/5 stars, could have easily been 5/5 with some editting and prereading.

  22. Anonymous says:

Short, sweet. Glad to read a Scootaloo flying fic that doesn't involve Rainbow being dead for once 🙂

  23. Fire Flash says:

I think ''Happysad'' is supposed to mean ''tears of joy'', not some weird combination.

  24. Vladnuke says:

The only sad thing about it was that it was so damn sweet it gave me super diabetes. Docs said they gots to amputate my whole body.

  25. Anonymous says:

Great story. I can't put my finger on it, but I feel like I've read something like this before. Still, 5/5 from me.

  26. Luna says:

    It's 'Per-form', Seth. Not 'Pre-form'.Time to take a shot….What's a 'shot', anyway?

  27. Anonymous says:

This place needs more Scootalovin'. Wheres my Scootalovin' at?

  29. Scootaloo says:

My name's 'Scootaloo,' not 'Scootalovin'.No wonder Dash never returned any of my letters.

  30. Anonymous says:

not realy seeing the sad here, and it feels short for some reason, but definitely is a good story. Sonic scootaboom? Scoot-scootaboom?

  31. I really enjoyed this.It was a simple story that was very short, but it had a lot of heart. Very cute. There could have been more technical polish, but for what it was it was very good.

  32. Anonymous says:

And the picture — it's Scootaloo, showing off her costume for the school play in "Past Sins"!

  33. Wow. I actually felt nervous and had butterflies in my stomach when reading the beginning. Very well written.

  34. @Dave Mustang, the cynical Brony *blinks*…*prays Srgt. Sprinkles doesn't read that comment*

  35. Anonymous says:

@AnonymousOh gawd yes. I didn't even think of that.

  36. Anonymous says:

Maybe it's supposed to be sad when you realize that it's a dream and Scootaloo is idolizing someone that will more than likely never pay her any attention.

  37. @dave mustage, the cylical brony (can't find reply button). To make the story better, don't skin dash.

  38. Common plot, seen it done better. This reads like a laundry list and there's absolutely no tension at all; it's obvious she's going to succeed. I got nothing out of this.

  39. natetehguy says:

Sorry, nope, a bit to predictable and obvious for my likings

  40. Anonymous says:

I didn't catch the sad. It was cute, but kind of predictable. 3/5.

  41. Anonymous says:

What's actually sad is that almost every element in this particular fic was virtually stolen from another fanfic… Beat for beat in fact. It was the last fifth or so of the fanfic "Rainbows and Sunsets" which did exactly the same thing, only was much longer and better put together.I don't know if you MEANT to copy that or not, but yeah, you kinda did.

  42. I kinda have to agree with the anon above me. I was thinking that the whole way through. It was still well written and had a lot of potential. I encourage you to keep writing! 🙂

  43. Anonymous says:

All of this is ripped from one story or another.Perhaps the author read them all and was unable to formulate his own sufficiently different, perhaps it a troll. who knows. but these are stolen

  46. bronydash says:

I would've liked it to be longer, but you left me smiling. Nice job.
